Dr. Erin Gullatt, MD.

I was born and raised in Bossier City and attended LSU for undergrad. I went back home to Shreveport for medical school and completed my OB/GYN residency at Ochsner’s in New Orleans. While New Orleans was a great city, and where my son was born; being from a smaller town, my husband and I wanted to get back to spending time with our family, like going to the lake, hunting and other outdoor activities; and to avoid as much traffic as possible.

I became on OBGYN for many reasons. Although I love delivering babies and performing surgery, one of my favorite parts is the intimacy of the field. It’s usually not a quick visit. It’s more of a relationship. I get to see a patient from start to finish and get to know their families and children. I am one of three girls in my family and I can relate well to women and the problems they have with their families and friends.

I enjoy being able to take care of patients from a wide age range, really from adolescence through menopause. My approach with patients is to try to understand why they felt the need to come see the doctor and what they are hoping to get out of their visit. I make sure I hear them out and let them know what I am thinking and what I think could be the problem and how we might fix it. I am always sure to discuss all options and to make sure they understand what I am saying and what I think they could gain from particular treatments. I also try to make sure that they get to know me and that it’s a two sided relationship and that they feel like their needs are met.
