Laura Petty, MD
I'm a small-town girl. I grew up in Oakdale, LA and went to college at LSU where I got my degree in Biological Sciences. I attended medical school at LSUHSC-Shreveport and I completed my OB/GYN residency in Jackson, MS at University of Mississippi Medical Center. I joined the Woman's Clinic 5 years ago and am so happy to be taking care of the women of Northeast Louisiana. I am board certified and a member of ACOG. I am married to my husband Paul Michael and we have two young daughters, Caroline and Christine. Being a wife and mom, I can relate to many of the issues my patients may be struggling with. I am also open in the fact that I recently experienced the loss of my last baby, Chapman, at birth. My patients have been wonderful to me during this difficult time, and I am so grateful for the love they have shown me.
I know going to the gynecologist is not one of the most fun things to do every year, but it is necessary. Having a yearly exam is so important to ensure that you are well and healthy. I am down to earth. You can talk to me about anything without having to worry about judgment. I will try to help with whatever problem you are facing. I enjoy taking care of women at all stages of their life and I get to know my patients and their families well over the years that I take care of them. They make my job and coming to work every day enjoyable.
It is also very exciting to deliver a baby almost daily!
