The role of the Medical Assistant is to actively work with a provider and a nurse to care for patients in the clinical setting. The medical assistant assists the provider at the bedside with obtaining fetal heart tones, specimen collection, procedural assisting, and physical exams. Some procedures completed in the office include but are not limited to pap smears, endometrial biopsies, ablations, Bulkamid, IUD placement and removal, pellet insertions and removals. Applicants must be able to work well in a team atmosphere and a fast-paced environment. Other job duties include sterilizing equipment, autoclave maintenance, stocking supplies, and room turnover. Applicants must be able to provide their own form of transportation and travel between clinic sites including Monroe, West Monroe, and Ruston. Experience with NextGen Electronic Medical Record preferred, but not required. Previous experience in an OB/GYN clinic preferred, but not required.
